Staffing at the centre

Greetings from Trustees - George, Amy, Clive and Aishwarya.

After several weeks spent shortlisting and interviewing brilliant candidates, we have appointed two new members of staff at the Rising Sun.

Adam Adrian joins as the new Venue Co-ordinator. Adam has extensive front of house experience – having worked at South Street and at Reading Town Hall. Adam hails from Reading and is a photographer and musician, having played his first gig at the Rising Sun. He has volunteered extensively with eco / permaculture / gardening groups in Reading, and he helps volunteer at the Bike Hub in town. He has previously attended salsa at the Rising Sun and also Life Drawing classes on a Tuesday night.

Stephen French is our new Caretaker. Stephen has extensive experience in preservation and grounds maintenance roles at historic and prestigious buildings across Berkshire. With specialisms in carpentry and joinery, and experience in engineering roles and H&S roles in the past, Stephen is an ideal fit for the centre. He adores the Rising Sun building and is excited and committed to restoring and caring for it. Born in Reading, Stephen remembers coming to band nights at the Rising Sun in the 90s. He recently reconnected with the centre – attending a poetry slam and finding himself unexpectedly roped in to being one of the judges.

Please do pop in to the centre and say hello to Adam and Stephen!
