Hi Everybody

I'm not what you'd call a sun worshipper, but I'm getting a bit fed up with the rain.  In fact, I'm starting to get excited the manner of a tartrazine-addled seven-year-old then I suddenly see a vague speck of sunshine.  Mind you, I'm not the only one.

Also, it's another quiet(ish) weekend at the Rising Sun.  However, on Sunday, we bring out our 2020 instalment of DANCE DAY!

Dance day is back and is offering a full day of dance classes all for free. Learn to dance, do something new and creative, express yourself, get fit and meet people – all at the same time. All these dances run as regular classes at the centre so if you find a dance that inspires you you can join the class. Dance is life-affirming, hugely enjoyable and good for mind body and soul.

You can try:

10am -Salsa (la Rueda)

11am - Balboa

12pm - Solo swing and Charleston

1pm - Bachata

2pm - Kizomba

3pm - Tap

4pm - Tango

Followed by dance demonstrations from some of the teachers!

The Rising Sun’s cafe will be open throughout the day serving homemade cakes and refreshments!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

This Weekend's Events (20th to 22nd April)

Hi Everyone

It really annoys me how people nowadays are always moaning on about how things were better in the old days.  Nobody ever complained in my day... hang on....

This Saturday, Greg Chapman brings his “one-man variety” show to the centre, with two performances – a family-friendly matinee and a more grown-up evening show.

Hi Everyone

Did you know that I once made a replica nuclear submarine out of polystyrene.  It didn't go down very well
