Hi Everyone

Circumstances have conspired to get in the way of things for I, your humble narrator at this present moment.  And once more,  you are either spared/deprived another regular pre-amble from myself (depending on your particular point of view) and we can go head first into everything Rising Sun related this weekend

(Again)

On Saturday and Sunday, we're pleased to be hosting a book launch and exhibition from AHMAD ALAZAMI

A chance to see the powerful and moving artwork of Syrian Artist Ahmad Alazami. The works are unique, 3D constructions using board reclaimed from Syria, and creating images involving nails and string, calligraphy and using light and shadow to complete the composition. Each piece is accompanied by text and tells the story of Ahmad’s experience of growing up in Syria and his journey to this country. It is powerful, moving work with a strong humanitarian focus.

Ahmad’s newly published book which also tells of his childhood in Syria, his art and techniques and his experiences in Syria.

On Saturday we're open from 12am to 9pm, with the book launch starting at 2pm.  And from 12am to 7pm on Sunday

Not only that, but also... on Monday we have another QUIZ NIGHT!

With a rotating selection of quiz-masters no two quizzes will be the same! Are you up to the challenge?

We start at 8pm. Maximum 4 people per team. £1.50 per person entry, and the winner gets the pot.

That's everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)
