This weekend's Events (28th February to 1st March)

Hi Everyone

After listening to some podcasts where Simon Mayo bickers excessively with Mark Kermode whilst pretending to be talking about films, I've noticed that Hollywood are going through one of those periods where they're not bringing out any films featuring Will Ferrell or John C Reilly.  Are they ill?

In other news, just the one event as February collides with March.  And it happens to be CLUB VELOCITY

Another fine selection  of beat combos for the enjoyment of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ and it looks just so

BLIND RHYTHM
A stupidly young band from Newbury - The New Seattle, or so we are told.  Played the Rising Sun a few times now..  Many seasoned gig-goers have been very impressed. Female-fronted rock-tinged guitar greatness! (Subtitles available on Ceefax)

INTERRUPTED
Ace big riff and groove-heavy.  For fans of Queens of the Stone Age/Muse

DOOPS
"A lot of regulars keep telling us to book these chaps  We always listen to our lovely regular punters" is the proud boast of the powers that be at Velocity HQ

We’ll be open at 8pm and it’ll cost £5 in advance from www.wegottickets.com or slightly more than that on the door

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Volunteers' Week: You Make the Difference

The Rising Sun is unique in its relationship with volunteering. As most people who visit the centre are aware, we only have 2 part-time paid workers here.
