First names announced for Here Comes The Sun 2022!

After an enforced break of two years, we're proud to announce that the Here Comes The Sun music and arts festival will finally return on Saturday 6th August.

Here Comes The Sun is an all-day festival of music, arts, dance, children’s activities, food, drink and everything the centre holds dear. As we emerge from the shadow of Covid, we’ll be offering a slightly different, slightly smaller festival this year – but we’re still planning on flinging all our doors open to give you all-area access, with art, decorations and performances cropping up all over the centre and its grounds. We even roll out the (fake) grass to make our courtyard a wonderful play area for kids!

The first acts to be announced this year include new names and familiar faces. Reading’s homegrown soul and Motown covers crew The Mark II will bring the party to the main room – aka the Sun Stage! They’ll be joined by alt-rock four-piece Elucidate, the “psychedelic rage” of DR SATSO, and a returning Grae J. Wall & Los Chicos Muertos, who blend country, folk, chanson and skiffle! We’ll also see new project performances from festival favourites – Lee Switzer-Woolf (Launch Control, Seasons In Shorthand) bringing his new take on folktronica, and electronic tinged alt-rock from Dakorra, the new project from Ocean Ruins singer Kate Herridge.

There’ll be plenty of food and drink on offer, a new visual arts space and plenty more to see and do that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Entry is £10 in advance from WeGotTickets, or £15 on the door. Free entry for children 14 and younger. Numbers will be limited this year, so we recommend booking in advance to avoid missing out.

So why not join us once again for the hottest house party of the summer!
