The Rising Sun Arts Centre is holding its fourth Art Auction as part of the Centre's Open Day on Saturday 7 June 2014. We are asking if local artists would like to and are able to help support The Rising Sun Arts Centre by donating a piece of artwork for our auction.
All Rising Sun Arts Centre volunteers are pulling together to raise funds and the profile of the centre by putting on another day and evening of events. We’ve had a fantastic response over the last few years and we are extremely grateful to all the artists that have donated in the past, helping us to continue our unique programme of events and activities. For the auction, we create a catalogue of all donated works and display pieces in an exhibition during the day of the open day. The auction itself is lively and lots of fun and items are auctioned in between cabaret acts. If you were to donate a piece of work to the auction we would credit this in the auction catalogue and place it in the exhibition with any details you might like to supply.
During the Open Day there will be a showcase of our classes and workshops with free taster sessions and info stands. The auction artworks will be on display throughout the day and bids being taken. It will be a very relaxed and fun day of events that everyone can be involved in, while at the same time raising some much needed funds for the centre.
We realise that times are difficult and that not everyone will be in a position to donate work but please let us know if you think you can.
