FREE Workshop Weekend!

Yes you read that right - a full weekend of fabulous workshops for everyone to enjoy: all completely free. The weekend includes Life Drawing, Watercolour Paint Making, Collage, Origami, Printing, Balboa Dance, Ukulele for Kids, Doodle Art, Chinese Calligraphy, Salsa Dancing and Paper Mâché. Choose the one or ones you would like to do (full schedule on reverse) and join us at the Rising Sun at the beginning of November. This is a great opportunity to be creative, meet people and have fun. Relax with a tea/coffee and homemade cake in our café or enjoy real Iranian (vegan) food which will be served all day.

Workshop Schedule: Hours are 90 minutes unless otherwise stated.

Saturday

• 11.00 am Café Open
• 11.30 am Life Drawing – till 2.00 pm, Draw from a model with instruction.
• 12.00 pm Dice Doodles with Immy Smith. Dice become the decision makers in creating fantastic doodles.
• 2.00 pm Children’s Ukulele Workshop (Aimed at KS 2 and 3). Ukuleles provided.
• 2.30. pm till 6.00 pm Paper Mâché Workshop With Iranian Artist Andre Agassi. Learn how to create sculptural forms with Paper Mâché
• 4.00 pm Salsa Dance. Learn to salsa – classes continue at the Rising Sun on Thursdays.

Sunday

• 11.00 am Café Open
• 12.00 pm How to Make your own Watercolour Paints: An interactive demo of stages and processes, With Immy Smith.
• 12.00 pm till 4.00 pm Book making and Origami Small Handmade Book Making with Helen Westhrop Using different types of papers and letter stamps, create your own little book.
• Plus: Easy origami drop-in session, learn how to fold birds and butterflies.
• 2.00 pm Chinese Calligraphy and Landscape painting with Yunxia Wu
• 4.00 pm Gell Printing with Suzanne Carson: Create beautiful, detailed prints using a variety of foliage and paper masks.
• 4.00 pm Balboa Dance – learn the basics of this swing dance. Classes continue at the centre on Monday evenings. Next beginners class 1st and 8th Dec.
