A year-long course in traditional Chinese ink painting, focused on careful study, disciplined practice, and long-term development. This course emphasises slow learning rather than quick or decorative results. Students develop sensitivity to brushwork, structure, ink, and space through sustained practice grounded in classical methods.
Source materials include The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting and selected classical works from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
